At Smothers European Volvo, when we heard about the first production model of the Volvo P1800 being stolen in Sweden, we were very disappointed. Who would do such a thing? It got our blood boiling, and many Swedes felt the same way. That's why they rallied as a nation, and set out to find this national treasure, giving the story a happy ending.

After it was reported missing from the garage of the P1800 Club Vice President, it made the big media rounds, and with an official investigation underway, they even got the help of Larmtjanst AB, a non-profit that aims to curb car crime in Sweden.

With the authorities, and vigilant citizens searching low and high for the classic P1800, they eventually made a break in the case after someone spotted what looked to be the vehicle abandon on a road with a tarp over it. It, was, in fact the Volvo in question, and we're happy to say that it remained very well intact. The only issue was a broken ignition, which the burglar did to get the car moving, and the interior was dirty, because, well, car thieves are only a few steps above dirt to begin with, right everyone?

Now, the vehicle is back with its rightful owner, and all of Sweden can rest easy. We know we are in our Santa Rosa, CA showroom.

While the P1800 is a classic, there's plenty of modern and advanced new Volvo models here. To take a closer look at each one, stop in during regular business hours, where we'd be happy to highlight vehicles, answer questions, and arrange test drives.
