To get that extra bit of zip out of the Volvo S60, drivers turn to Polestar, the official performance arm of the Swedish automaker. Right now, production versions of the enhanced ride are available in select nations across the globe as part of a pilot program. If everything goes well, we could see availability expand, and more models get the Polestar treatment. That has Smothers European Volvo excited.
One of the countries involved in the first batch of S60 Polestar models is Australia. It makes a lot of sense, because, as you've read on our blog previously, they are also racing the model in the V8 Supercar Series down under. If the Aussies take a real liking to the S60 Polestar, it's quite possible more will be introduced to the market.
One candidate is the V40. It debuted last year, with the hope of getting Volvo in the five-door hatchback game. Adding that extra dose of performance could be what puts it over the top in Europe.
As for new Volvo models you can find here in our Santa Rosa, CA showroom, the XC60 is a possibility. If this crossover received some more power and performance, nobody is going to make a fuss. Why would you? It'd be one thrilling ride.
