As part of the lead up to this year's North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Volvo has released a teaser for a new concept that already has the industry buzzing. The Volvo Concept XC Coupe promises to be a highlight of this year's show that begins on January 8th.

At September's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volvo debuted the Concept Coupe. That was the first part of a three-stage program to reinvent Volvo design. This new XC Coupe will be the second part, as it shifts the design language from something that was very sleek to something that is very tough and looks like it belongs in the snowy peaks of Sweden.

In a recent press release, Volvo affirmed that, "The next chapter in Volvo Cars' new design story showcases how the company's famous safety technology as well as a contemporary Scandinavian active lifestyle could be integrated into the new architecture."1

Some of the features on the new XC Coupe Concept in the teaser included, a frame that was higher off the ground, burly winter tires, a rooftop cargo box, and an attractive hatchback roofline.

You can be sure that we will be watching the Detroit Auto Show very closely to learn everything we can about the new Concept XC Coupe because we are hoping that a similar design eventually makes it to the assembly line in the near future.
